Following a collaboration in 2010, Louis Vuitton has again been commissioned by FIFA to develop the official case that will house the 2014 World Cup Trophy. The French luxury brand has developed an imposing custom made trunk emblazoned with the LV monogram to house the solid gold trophy as its transported to the finals, where one triumphant team will be presented the coveted prize by Brazilian supermodel and avowed football fan Gisele Bundchen.
In London, 34 year old top model David Gandy has announced he will be designing a 28 piece underwear and sleepwear capsule collection for British high street retailer Marks and Spencer, entitled David Gandy for Autograph. Following its release in September the collection will be available in over 350 stores worldwide and online. David Gandy has a on-going relationship with Marks and Spencer acting as the principal model for the brands menswear collection, and in addition to designing the capsule collection he will also be the face of the promotional campaigns.
6 years after the opening of the first Missoni branded hotel in Edinburgh, the Italian luxury fashion house has announced that is it pulling out of the hotel venture it formed with hotel management group Carlson Rezidor. The Missoni hotels in Edinburgh and Kuwait will be rebranded to reflect the change, additionally Rosita Missoni, a founding member of Missoni, will no longer be acting as creative director following the disbanded of the partnership. Alberto Piantoni, CEO of Missoni commented on the split, saying “The Hotel Missoni adventure in partnership with Rezidor Group has been a positive and important experience for us. After years of collaboration, today our paths are splitting with Missoni having developed new strategic visions in the field of interior design and hospitality”.
