Spotlight on the Hunger Games Heroine Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer Shrader Lawrence was born on August 15, 1990 in Louisville, Kentucky. At an early age, Jennifer managed to persuade her parents to take her to New York City to find a talent agent so she could fulfill her dream of acting.
After appearing in a number of roles, including a stint on TBS comedy series The Bill Engvall Show, critically acclaimed film Ozark Mountains and the X-Men blockbuster series, Lawrence finally hit global recognition after landing the part of Katniss Everdeen in the film The Hunger Games, a role that established her as the highest grossing heroine of all time. If this wasn’t enough Jennifer then went on to win a best actress Academy Award for her appearance in Winter’s Bone in 2011. Aged 22, Jennifer then went on to play a lead role in Silver Linings Playbook opposite Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro where she won an Academy Ward and a Golden Globe Award for best actress. Before starring in comedy-drama American Hustle where she bagged herself a BAFTA and a Golden Globe.
Jennifer was named most powerful woman in the entertainment industry by Elle magazine in 2013 and continues to be an inspirational role model to young women worldwide. She has been a spokesperson for Dior since 2012 and is also an active philanthropist who supports a number of important charities and organizations.
